Excited and nervous, I slipped my rented Rennault into second gear and began the slow climb up the 1780 foot hill leading to Rennes-le-Chateau, a mysterious village in the Pyrenees of Southern France. Here, say the legends, hidden in works of art, literature, architecture, geography and even in the sky are the secrets of the ancients.
As the serpentine track wound up and back I became even more uncertain of what lay ahead. I drifted back fifteen years to when Rennes first "called" me. As a sophmore at a small southern Baptist college my sociology professor suggested I write about an issue that would affect religion. I chose the controversial bestseller Holy Blood, Holy Grail which stated the crucifixion of Jesus was a hoax and the proof was hidden at Rennes.
Turning the last corner into Rennes, I was awakenened by the 'kirk-kur-kur' of a rooster. I stepped out of the car into an earlier and simpler time. Wood smoke filled the air, silence too. I knew within seconds I was in a holy place.
Wandering this storybook village on this sunny spring day, stones crunched beneathed my feet as I tred on paths which everyone from stone age man to the Celts, Visigoths, Cathars, alchemists and Knights Templar tred before me. Each one leaving their secrets behind.
Exploring a narrow alley way, I came upon a silver-haired gentleman. Busy supervising repairs on his "newish" 700 year old cottage (which were necessitated by a recent earthquake), he stopped long enough to offer a cordial greeting. "Hello. Hello. Do sit down," the man said.
He sat me on a chair and flicked me a sly glint. He was archaeologist and Rennes scholar Graham Simmans, a worldly Brit with an uncanny resemblance to Donald Sutherland. After ten years at Rennes he is certain he has solved the mystery that every year brings 50,000 pilgrims here, and turns them away feeling like they are further away from comprehending it than when they arrived. He promised he would one day soon reveal his secret.
I explained to Graham that I was in France on the trail of the Peacemaker, the secret forerunner or herald of the Christ or Messiah. "You mean the Teacher of Righteousness or John the Baptist?" he asked, proceeding to recount his plans for an expedition to recover the remaining "motherlode" of Dead Sea scrolls in Egypt. "Yeah," I replied, realizing this was someone who, in the field of religious archaeology, had long since been there, discovered that, and brought home the artifact.
I offered Graham my theory that in one of his most specific and least understood prophecies, Nostradamus predicted that in July, 1999 the King of Terror (the Peacemaker), will come out of the sky and resurrect the King of Angolmois, (the Christ). These two are the two anticipated Messiahs, revealed in the Dead Sea Scrolls. I travelled to France to investigate Nostradamus' prediction that these two messiahs would emerge from Rennes-le- Chateau.
Graham received my unusual theory with a casual "but of course" wave of his hand and flick of his brow. After all, Rennes is not a place of innocence. It's a place of heresy.
Legend has it that after the crucifixion Jesus and Mary Magdalen sailed for France. Mary was pregnant with Jesus' child, and Jesus, alive and well, had work to do. He had chosen Rennes as the site for a Temple of Resurrection. Here, I chirped to Graham and the beautiful couple from Australia who by now had joined us, the countryside would be transformed from wasteland to Garden. Here, Earth would be connected with heaven.
Call me sophmoric, but if this terrible blasphemy is true, humankind is being deprived of the knowledge of the greatness of our holy ancestors - their knowledge, inventions, discoveries, and their universe. If we know not their past, we may not know them when they return (which is believed to be imminent). So we must seek their truth. If Rennes is where they lived, let us bring it out of darkness, shed light on her mystery, rebuild her broken temple and revive her storied land. Jesus would have nothing less.
The Resurrection Machine
In March, when I arrived, the trees of this landscape were just beginning to bud out. The famous vineyards were dormant. This made it easy to see the natural and man-made landmarks including Templar castles, chateaus, menhirs, mines and mountains which form a forty square mile pentagram on the surface of the Rennes-le-Chateau area.
A pentagram is the geometric shape invoked by magicians and in the ancient rites of resurrection. It is the hallmark of the cathedral builders. The planet Venus makes a pentagram every eight years over Rennes. What's the connection? Venus is Mary Magdalen's star. It's also the Morning Star, the star of Jesus.
I hiked up and down the steep hills of this secret temple till I had the legs of a stallion. I rubbed the red clay of the land in my hands and drank the living spring water. I met many of the locals who preserve the Rennes mystery. I even had a rebirthing in Mary Magdalen's cave by an Armenian holy man.
Finally, perched like a phoenix on the edge of this island of tranquility, I realized I was standing on top of a temple/machine. The Mandaens, an offshoot of the Essenes who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls, believed a 'secret' Adam would one day return to Earth to build a machine to transport the souls back to heaven. Like the Great Pyramid and Chartres cathedral, this machine is designed to deflect the ignorant and force the brave to ask questions; the answers to which leave us reborn as children of the universe. Here, at Rennes, I was smack in the middle of one of these machines.
The Mystery Priest
At the turn of the century it fell to Berenger Saunier to provide the software, or instruction manual, for the Rennes "resurrection machine" and to update the code concealing its secrets (which I believe were also encoded by Nostradamus in the early 1500's). It was in 1885, at the age of 33, when Saunier became the parish priest of Rennes. The story has it that one day while making repairs on the badly decaying church altar, Sauniere discovered a cache of parchments concealed in wooden tubes. With this discovery, and the Secrets these scrolls contained, Sauniere soon went from rags-to-megariches.
With his fortune, Sauniere embarked on a restoration of his extremely small, but very old church. Dedicated to Mary Magdalen in 1049, the church was built on foundations apparently laid by the Visigoths, however, there is evidence that even they built on much more ancient foundations. Many believe this site was originally a temple dedicated to Isis. Indeed, there are many allusions to a Rennes-Egypt connection, including the Temple of Osiris, an otherworldly flat-topped hill directly across the valley from Rennes' Temple of Isis.
Egyptian scribes encoded the Pyramid Texts (the Egyptian instruction manuals for resurrection) on ancient temple walls. Likewise, Sauniere chose to conceal his secret instruction manual for the Rennes machine within his church; specifically in a bizarre collection of religious statues and paintings, each one slightly or entirely twisted from its 'official' meaning.
Most notably, he installed a demon guardian at the door; a stooped figure with glowing blue eyes and wearing a green robe. He is the Green Man, the 'hidden Christ', whom the Greeks said was the king of a heavenly place called Tula. He is the same as the Gardener who mysteriously appeared to Mary Magdalen on Easter morning in the Book of John. Osiris, Enki, Kama, and El Khidr are a few of his other names.
According to Cathar belief, this 'demon' is the secret partner of Jesus. He, along with his wife, the 'black' (or again, hidden) goddess, are thought to be the entities responsible for the human soul's incarceration, excuse me, incarnation on Earth.
Over the Green Man's horned head Sauniere placed an inscription. "By this sign you shall conquer him." The horns are identical in meaning to the horns Michaelangelo sculpted to his statue of Moses. They are rays of light. The sign he upholds is the enclosed sun cross or Cross of Light. If a person acquires the secret knowledge (gnosis) represented by this symbol, he can overcome this figure and escape Earth life.
Over the entrance to the church Sauniere placed the inscription "terrible is this place." These are the exact words used by Jacob after returning from his journey through the gate to heaven. This event, says renowned French mythologist Rene Geunon, took place at a location called Luz (light), Salem (peace) or Tula (balance) - the same place as the home of the Gardener.
The combination of these three clues: the statues and paintings, the demon guardian, and the inscriptions, reveal the Secret of Rennes: the temple Jesus had come to Rennes to construct is a star gate to heaven. Furthermore, Jesus would return to Rennes to renew the teachings of the Green Man or Gardener. Proof of the existence and location of this star gate are found in the parchments discovered by Sauniere.
Fortune hunters of the world benefitted from a lucky break when, in 1967, copies of these parchments mysteriously appeared. The story of their decipherment is a remarkable tale best told by other authors. Suffice it to say, parchment one turned out to be a treasure map. It is of immense interest to those seeking the enormous quatities of gold thought to be hidden at Rennes.
Parchment two, is something quite different. It is the one which concerns us. It leads to wisdom. The literal translations from French into English of this message vary. However, they approximate the following message:
SHEPHERDESS NO TEMPTATION TO WHICH
POUSSIN AND TENIERS KEEP THE KEY PEACE 681
WITH THE CROSS AND THIS HORSE OF GOD I DESTROY THIS
DEMON GUARDIAN AT MIDDAY BLUE APPLES
Careful scrutiny reveals this cipher contains a profound prophecy. One day THE HORSE OF GOD will DESTROY THE GUARDIAN SPIRIT. It is entirely possible that was is meant by the French phrase J'ACHEVE is not I DESTROY, but rather, I COMPLETE or make whole THE DEMON GUARDIAN - the Green Man. If so, this is the same prophecy given by Nostradamus when he foretold of the King of Terror who would resurrect, or make whole or holy, the King of Angolmois. The link in these prophecies is the action hero who performs its mission: THE HORSE OF GOD. Who is the HORSE OF GOD?
The Peacemaker: King Of Terror And Horse Of God
In The Peacemaker and the Key of Life (Earth Pulse Press, 1997), I document the ancient belief that the Peacemaker is the earthly ambassador for the Christ or Messiah. He continuously reincarnates throughout history to 'retie' the bond between earth and heaven, setting the stage for the arrival of the Gardener. He is the white horse of many religious traditions, but most especially he is the white horse of the Book of Revelation upon whom the Christ symbollically rides. He is therefore, the HORSE OF GOD.
According to Christian tradition, the structure of the story of the return of the Christ or Messiah is this: a hero rides in on a white horse (the Peacemaker), is exalted by the goddess and returns the Sun God to Earth.
Recently, the world was hypnotized by the opposing or anti- Christ story when it was fulfilled beat for beat in the O.J. Simpson drama. Millions of people witnessed this coward riding out of town curled up in the back of his white bronco after being accused of murdering the goddess (the fair-haired Nicole often photographed with a large cross around her neck) and murdering the sun god (a handsome young man named Gold-man.) In physics every action has an equal and opposite reaction. By this rendering, potentially one shoe of the Christ story has dropped. We can now expect to see signs for the positive fulfillment of the Christ story to unfold.
A Hebrew tradition, which is backed by the Hopi Indians, reveals that in preparation for this event the Peacemaker has a few things on his 'to do' list. He must: create a divinely inspired world peace; bring Moses and the Children of Light back to life; rediscover the lost Ark of the Covenant; reacquire the Key of Life or Staff of Miracles; level the mountains of the holy land; and, finally, introduce the Christ, Messiah or Earth Teacher.
As an initiate of the Hebrew mystery schools who tracked the Peacemaker through history, Nostradamus specifically encoded the who, when, where and how to's of the Peacemaker's mission. Spectacularly, Nostradamus narrowed the culmination of the Peacemaker's mission to Rennes-le-Chateau and the Hall of Records underneath the Sphinx.
This discovery is spine-tingling. In the Arab tradition the Sphinx - a composite creature of the four beasts of the Apocalypse - the lion, bull, man and eagle - is called the Father of Terror! This fact, in itself, draws a direct line between the mystery man of 1999, the King of Terror and the Father of Terror.
Furthermore, the Arabs have a saying: 'Man fears time, but time fears the Sphinx'. The reason is, before the Flood the Peacemaker, a transplanted Egyptian name Thoth/Enoch, and his wife, Seshet, travelled the world assembling and disseminating the sacred texts and magical objects and advanced technology of all the pre-Flood civilizations. They magically sealed the Hall of Records to all but a 'man of Enoch', that is, one who matches Enoch's exact soul vibration. This can only mean Enoch himself. Next, they marked their repository with the Sphinx. When the contents of this cache are revealed, say the prophecies, it will bring terror and chaos to the existing world order. Materialism will no longer be king. Terror will be king.
Terror can certainly mean chaos, degeneracy. This, however, may not be quite what Nostradamus had in mind. In Nostradamus' time "terror" meant enlightenment since the Pope was exterminating all who sought the Truth, particularly about the crucifixion and the alleged bloodline and of Jesus. Fearing persecution by religious authorities, he chose to conceal his most important teachings in code.
'Terror' also represented Jesus' most secretive teachings which were believed to be stored at Rennes. In the unique Holy Grail legend which was passed along the French country side where Nostradamus lived, the Grail story was dictated by Jesus to a young Frenchman. When this young man held the Grail in his hand, and looked into its bright light, he became instantly horrified, then enlightened. The first chapter of the book, the Holy Grail, which was a highly coded treatise on embodying "Christ consciousness," was "Here Commences Terror." This links Jesus with terror and enligtenment.
The King of Terror and Father of Terror connection is remarkable for the fact that in French the first word of the coded parchment discovered by Sauniere, bergere, can mean SHEPHERDESS, but it also means the 'last card in the pack'. The last card in the tarot pack, from which playing cards are derived, is the Wheel of Time, symbolized by the lion, bull, man and eagle - the exact creatures which compose the Sphinx! Is it possible the Shepherdess is the Sphinx? This observation combined with the HORSE OF GOD certainly links the two prophecies.
There is opposition to the Peacemaker's goal of opening the "book of revelation" concealed within the Sphinx. Major political maneuverings, including the building of a human wall around the Sphinx, are occurring in Egypt at the moment. Nostradamus clearly foresaw this opposition, even building it into several of his prophecies. Perhaps the world will be surprised to learn that the real Sphinx and Hall of Records of the ancient prophecies is not in Egypt, but in France. We will reveal its guarded location at a later time. For now, let's return to the second halves of the Nostradamus and Rennes prophecies.
The King Of Amgolmois
Who or what is the King of Angolmois? Who is the DEMON GUARDIAN? This place name may be an anagram for Mongolia. The first Mongolian who comes to the mind of most interpreters of Nostradamus' prophecies is Genghis Khan. Thus, say the experts, the King of Angolmois, must be the reincarnated Genghis Khan (the Washington Post's "Man of the Millennium"), who will lead a massive final slaughter of humanity.
Correctly understanding the King of Terror allows a different take on this King of the Mongols. In the Buddhist tradition Mongolia is the location for Shambhala, a paradise which is equated with the Christian New Jerusalem. The Temple Mount in old Jerusalem (literally "city of peace") says scholar Zecharia Sitchin, was the olden command center for a group of ancient astronauts. It was the place where the mating of worlds took place. Shambhala is also described by the Buddhists in this manner.
The myths of these "cities of Peace," which are described as docking stations between our world and higher dimensions, are traced to Atlantis. The myths of the Maya, Toltecs and Aztecs tell of bearded, blond white men who came from a kingdom in Mongolia called Tollan located near Lake Baikal and the river Tula. These Mongolians said they had come from Atlantis and sailed around the world founding new Tulas, naming them after their homeland. From this we may deduce Nostradamus' 'King of Angolmois' is actually the King of Tula.
The Mayans, like the Greeks and Egyptians, have a dualistic cosmology. They believed there is an earthly Tula and a heavenly Tula which is located at the center of our Milky Way galaxy. Mythologically, Tula is the place from whence our souls originated and the place to which we seek to return at death. This was not just a philosophy, but a way of life with souls coming and going between the two realms. Periodically, new earthly Tulas are constructed on Earth which are 'wombs' designed to transform souls into a form capable of making the journey to our heavenly home. The symbol for these Tula complexes is the enclosed sun cross, precisely the sign the DEMON GUARDIAN is supporting at Rennes.
The exact location of this heavenly kingdom is believed to be in the constellation Ophiuchus, the Serpent Holder. Interestingly, the Peacemaker, the prophet of Tula, is expected to land atop the Great Pyramid in July, 1999. On August 11, 1999, a total eclipse of the Sun will accompany the appearance of the Grand Cross. This is the next best date astrologically for the opening of the Hall of Records. This eclipse is the precursor of another eclipse on November 11, 2012, exactly 13 years later. At this time Earth will be directly aligned with Tula.
Hmm. Perhaps this won't be a bad time to pay a return visit to Rennes. Until then, stay tuned for more Rennes revelations.
